Ono-Sake Warehouse

Although the building employs conventional timber framing based on a 105 mm (3.5-sun) module, the materials are varied to suit each program area: exterior and shop columns are either 42 mm-diameter steel pipes or square 105 × 105 mm LVL members.
For the horizontal members, the beam system was tailored to the three structural spans and imposed loads of the warehouse, office, and retail zones—selectively using LVL, sawn lumber, and glued-laminated timber—so that each space could be formed without beam depth becoming a constraint.
In the roof, high-density wood-wool cement board is used as the roof sheathing. Where the eaves overhang is small, the sheathing is cantilevered and rafters are omitted; where the overhang is moderate, 45 mm-square rafters are provided; and where the overhang is large, steel plates are added for reinforcement. In this way, the structure and spatial character are rationally tuned to each location while remaining deliberately varied.

3.5寸幅(105 mm)を基本モジュールとする在来木造であるが,適宜,空間の用途に応じて材料を変え,屋外や店舗の柱は径42 mmの鋼管や3寸角(105×105 mm)のLVL柱としている。横架材は,倉庫・事務所・店舗の3つの構造スパンと積載荷重を考慮し,それぞれLVL,製材,集成材,を使い分け,梁せいを課題にせずにそれぞれの空間を構成している。屋根は高圧木毛セメント板を野地板に用いることで,軒の出が少ない箇所は野地板を跳ね出して垂木を省略,軒の出が中程度の部分は45 mm角の垂木,さらに軒の出が大きな箇所は鋼板で補強,といように対応することで場所ごとに合理的かつ異なる構造・空間を構成している。
