Kankyu-tei | 感泣亭

A small annex added to the garden of a modernist wooden house designed by architect Tsutomu Ikuta. The wall facing the property boundary also serves as a concrete boundary wall, and a wooden roof spans from this wall toward the main house. To create an open and inviting space accessible to the local community, the side facing the existing house was designed without any structural elements except for slender steel columns.

建築家・生田勉氏の設計による木造モダニズム住宅の庭に増築した小さな離れ。隣地境界に接する壁面は塀を兼ねたRC造の壁とし，その壁から既存住宅との間に木造の屋根をかけている。地域の人々が使いやすい開放的な空間とするため，既存住宅側は細い鋼管柱以外の一切の構造要素がない構成とした。
