Nagasaki Job Port

This welfare facility for people with disabilities is located within an industrial park in Nagasaki City. The design features overlapping single-pitched roofs that incorporate high side lights, allowing natural light to reach every corner of the large open interior space.
The structure adopts a simple moment-resisting frame system based on 150×150 mm columns. Beams are placed at the eave level, while the roof is supported by cantilevered columns extending above the frame columns. These cantilevered columns not only support the roof but also play an essential structural role: they transfer horizontal forces at points where the roof surface is divided by the high side lights back to the lower moment-resisting frame, thereby ensuring the overall integrity of the roof structure.

長崎市内の工業団地の一画に建つ障害者福祉事業所。折り重なった片流れの屋根の間からハイサイドライトを効果的に取り込み，広い1室空間でも細部にまで自然光を行き渡らせている。構造は，150×150の柱を基本としたシンプルなラーメン構造である。軒高のレベルで梁を架け，屋根はラーメン柱を延長した片持ち柱の上に架けている。また，この片持ち柱は，ハイサイドライトで屋根構面が分断される個所の水平力を下部のラーメン構造に伝達し，屋根構造を一体化する役割を果たしている。
