Our University’s 30th Anniversary Publication “Walking Lake Biwa, Thinking with Lake Biwa” Has Been Released! 滋賀県立大学開学30周年記念出版『びわ湖を歩く びわ湖と考える』が発刊されました！

The University of Shiga Prefecture has published its 30th anniversary commemorative book, “Walking Lake Biwa, Thinking with Lake Biwa: A Field Guide to All of Shiga.” This book brings together the long-running work and the latest research and interests of the School of Environmental Science’s current faculty members.

Prof. Takuo Nagai contributed a chapter titled “Sustainable Structural Design Using Shiga-Grown Reed.” Since joining the university in 2011, our laboratory has spent nearly 15 years practicing and researching structural design using natural materials such as bamboo and reed. In this chapter, we introduce our work over the past decade on utilizing reed.

滋賀県立大学開学30周年記念出版『びわ湖を歩く びわ湖と考える: 滋賀まるごとフィールドガイド』が発刊されました。環境科学部の現役教員の長年＆最新の研究や興味が詰まった一冊となっています。

永井は「滋賀県産ヨシを用いたサステナブルな建築構造デザイン」を寄稿しています。2011年に滋賀県立大に着任して以来，本研究室では約15年にわたって竹やヨシなどの自然素材を用いた構造デザインの実践・研究を行ってきました。本稿では，最近10年間に行ってきたヨシの活用について紹介していますので，ご関心のある方はぜひご一読頂けますと幸いです。本稿の英語版は，こちらよりお読み頂けます。
