KINTO Head Office

This is the head office of KINTO, a company based in Hikone-City. A defining feature of the building is the large under-eave space created between the office and the company’s adjacent logistics warehouse. This expansive eave is formed by cantilevered beams with a depth of 500 mm, spaced at 2-meter intervals.
While the basic structural system is a simple moment-resisting frame (rigid frame), the large eave creates a significant imbalance in weight distribution. To address this, additional columns were placed at mid-span between the main frame columns on the façade facing the eave, forming a Vierendeel truss. This design controls the position of the torsional center (center of rigidity) to enhance structural stability.

彦根市に拠点を置くKINTO社の本社オフィス。オフィスと同社の物流倉庫との間に設けられた大きな軒下空間が特徴である。この軒下空間を作る大庇はせい500の片持ち梁を2 m間隔で配置して構成している。
基本的な構成はシンプルなラーメン構造であるが，大庇により大きく重量の偏りが生じるため，庇空間に面した構面はラーメン柱のスパンの中間にさらに柱を配置してフィーレンディール架構を構成し，剛心位置を制御している。
